History

The first general assembly of the FCI Europe Section was held on 13 April 2002 in Paris, France.
24 European full member countries and 1 associated member country of the FCI were present.
The general assembly elected a general committee consisting of members from Denmark, France, Israel, Hungary and Greece.

The general committee of the FCI Europe Sections meets 3-4 times every year to deal with matters of general interest of European kennel clubs and other European dog organisations.
Topics vary from dog welfare, European legislation and dog identification to health issues, dog sports, dog activities and shows.

The yearly general assembly of the FCI Europe Section is normally held in connection with the FCI European Winner Dog Show.

The president of the FCI Europe Section represents the European members of the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) in the general committee of the FCI (world wide).
